2016 ACM Leadership Award Winners
The 2016 ACM Leadership award winners represent a true commitment to community, and both long term service and new spirit in our field.
Senator Edward Markey is the winner of this year’s
Koning-Stoney Award for his continued service to communities across the country as well as his native Massachusetts. The Senator has long been a leader in national telecommunications policy and a strong advocate for PEG community media.
Rob Brading is the winner of the Buske Award for his service supporting our field through his work at MetroEast Community Media in Gresham, OR. Rob recently retired, but has been a longtime volunteer with ACM and the Alliance for Communications Democracy.
Bepsie Perry of West Hartford, CT is the winner of this year’s Jewell Ryan-White Award for her work supporting multicultural and multilingual communication. Her work with Hello! West Hartford helps to support the communities that speak more than 70 languages in their city.
And Connor Donovan is the recipient of this year’s Brian Wilson Scholarship. Connor is a communications major at U Mass Amherst who got his inspiration for communications through his work at WACA TV in Ashland, MA.
