Mental health statistics of self harm in the LGBTQ+ community are presented to demonstrate the effect of minority stress. The concept of Intersectionality will be addressed and how racial and ethnic minorities, neurodiverse people, etc. are further impacted in the statistics for both self harm and hate crimes. Practical suggestions for fostering a welcoming environment of acceptance are given.
