WEEKLY NEWS FROM THE ACM PRESIDENT

APRIL 29, 2019

#ACMPDX

I hope you’re beginning to plan your time at the ACM National Conference in Portland OR (#ACMPDX) – Early Bird Registration for the conference is open now (link). There are a few things you should know about this year’s Conference:
  • We’re hosting a special two-day training led by Paula Manley and Toni Tabora Roberts right before the Conference on Monday and Tuesday.  This year marks the first year the ACM Foundation is staging the Emerging Leaders Institute, an effort to cultivate and support new and developing leaders in our fields.
  • The Conference kicks off Wednesday morning with an Opening Address, education sessions and our Trade Show and we’ll have a full day of events before our Reception in the Exhibit Hall and the Foundation hosts a fundraising mixer at the Jack London Revue.
  • Our National Leadership Awards luncheon and the Hometown Media Awards will be Thursday along with a full day of education sessions.
  • We’re hosting a special training conducted by Public VR Lab on Friday, along with our Membership Meeting Breakfast, education sessions and we’ll close things at a rooftop wrap party on Friday afternoon.
The other thing you’ll notice is most all of the education sessions are included in your registration fee, and only special events have separate fees.   This is being done to provide more education for attendees at the Conference and to make things simpler when you sign up to attend. And of course, Portland is a great place to visit and explore in July!

Sign up today!  Early Bird discounts apply right now.
