About Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson was a leader of the Alliance for Community Media first as chair of the Northeast Region, then Northwest Region and ultimately the National organization. Brian worked in both commercial and non-profit community television. He also spent many years working in government and serving his own community as a volunteer firefighter and mentor. Brian was a believer in building community by bringing people of diverse backgrounds together and using fun and insightful ways to create understanding and links between individuals of different geographical, racial and philosophical backgrounds who shared similar goals of creating better understanding through media, by mentoring or via government efforts. His efforts paid off in small towns, large cities and regional and national organizations. He did so with intelligence, eloquence, loyalty, honesty, and respect for others.
