PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE | DECember 21, 2020

PEG Stations & COVID-19

PEG stations continue to provide vital public health information during the Covid-19 crisis.

NSTV in Long Island has been providing Covid-19 information for their New York community through their partnership with Northwell Health. This past week, the station covered the first vaccine distribution for health care workers in the US at Northwell facilities in Queens.

For context of what stations are doing across the country, you can refer to the American University report on Covid response from earlier this year.

New in 2021 ACM Virtual Meetups
Starting in 2021, ACM will be hosting virtual meetups in states around the country as a way to provide support and informal networking for PEG channels.  The North Carolina meetup will be held on January 7
The Oregon meetup is scheduled for January 11. Attendees should preregister for the Zoom coordinates.   If you want to help host meetups in your state, please let us know at info@allcommunitymedia.org.

New Executive Directors

Please join us in welcoming new Executive Directors at two member stations in the Boston area: Somerville Media Center has announced Kat Powers is their new Executive Director.

CCTV in Cambridge has just announced Jessica Smyser will be their next leader.

And I’d like to say Aloha to Olelo’s President and CEO Sanford Inouye who has announced his retirement on March 31, 2021. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Sanford through his service on the ACM Board of Directors, and I want to thank him for his work for both Oahu and our members across the country! Mahalo!
