ACM Board of Directors

The ACM Board of Directors met last week at CAN TV Studios in Chicago – the city that will host next year’s National Conference. The Board’s business included approving a 2020 budget which will continue to support ACM’s Public Policy and Legal work and will conduct a census of access media organizations throughout the US (more on that in weeks to come).

The Board welcomed new members Jim Knightwright, Debra Rogers, Jasmine White and Sanford Inouye and said farewell and thanks to long-serving members Jon Funfar, Keith Thibault and Mary Van Sickle (all three former Chairs!) and Nancy Richard.  It also elected the following Officers for the coming year:

Chair – Donna Keating
Chair Elect – Richard Turner
Treasurer – Mark Monk
Treasurer Elect – Jim Knightwright
Secretary – Debra Rogers

As a membership organization, ACM tries to ensure the Board represents the diverse broad and specific interests of our members.  That includes our appointment process (handled through the Nominations committee) and our Annual member elections that occur each summer.  If you are interested in serving on the Board or in other volunteer service to the organization, please contact Donna Keating (Donna.Keating@montgomerycountymd.gov) or Nominations Chair Barbara Chisholm (barbara@wacatv.com).

Board Members (Left to Right): Jim Horwood, Jasmine White, Richard Turner, Donna Keating, Sanford Inouye, Barbara Chisholm, Gary Martin, Mike Johnson, Michelle Alimoradi, Debra Rogers, Jim Knightwright, Ross Rowe

Giving Tuesday

Mark your calendars for December Third – it’s Giving Tuesday.  And on this year’s celebration of giving, we’ll be asking folks to consider giving back to tomorrow’s community media leaders.

The ACM Foundation will be hosting the second Emerging Leaders Institute in Chicago next summer – where we work with new and emerging leaders in our field to help them grow and take the next steps in their personal and professional development.

On Giving Tuesday we’ll be asking you and others to support that work with a tax-deductible gift.

Stay tuned!
