Afternoon In-Depth Workshop: “Program Design and Fundraising Models for Youth Media”
ACM is working with one of the leading youth media organizations in the US; Wide Angle Youth Media, in Baltimore, to put together a workshop on ways you can design youth media programs at your facility for long-term success. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, July 11 at the ACM National Conference and we’re hoping lots of folks take advantage of it to build and strengthen youth media work in our field.
Staff from Wide Angle Youth Media will provide a hands-on, interactive workshop around best practices for creating community programs that can be sustained. The workshop will include an introduction to the organization, screenings of youth-produced media, and a showcase of models for different types of programs. Programming structures will include drop-in/short-term opportunities, ongoing media production classes, and long-term placements that focus on diversifying the workforce through internships and apprenticeships.
You will gain curriculum resources, take part in activities, discuss funding concerns and learn about what makes a successful youth program for community members as well as funders. And at the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to begin or expand youth media work at your center!
I hope you sign up today!
