Weekly News From the President: Is Charter Spectrum Moving Your PEG Channel?
2018 Webinars Begin Soon
We’ll start up our 2018 Webinar series on February 28th at 3:00 pm Eastern with “A Legal and Technical Update on Closed Captioning for PEG Channels”. We’ll review the latest policy and legal issues that local governments and community channels need to consider, and look at how technical options for captioning are advancing. I hope you’ll join us. I would also like to encourage you to recommend the webinar to policy makers, board members and technical staff who would benefit from the update.
Other webinar topics in the coming year will include “Best Practices in Government Meeting Coverage”; “Rights Management and Rights Free Media”; “How to Build Earned Income and Donated Income for Your Channels”; “Libel, Slander and Press Rights”; “How to Build Better and Best Boards”; “Open Government and Civic Engagement and PEG Channels”; and more.
Webinars are a benefit of your ACM membership. If you have an organizational membership, multiple people at your organization can take advantage of the training. I hope you’ll join us!
Is Charter Spectrum Moving Your PEG Channel?
I am hearing reports of Charter Spectrum moving PEG channels without notification or community consent, and in some cases, moving channels to a cable cast tier that requires additional equipment or a cable box. If this has happened in your community, please let me know via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
