Weekly News From the President: Now is Your Chance: NOI Deadlines Approach
Thanks to everyone either sending ACM letters or filing comments with the FCC for the Notice of Inquiry on Promoting Independent and Diverse Sources of Video. The deadlines are this Wednesday, March 30th for Comments and April 14th for Reply Comments.
It’s important for the FCC to understand the barriers for our channels to compete for viewers – including barriers to putting program information on interactive program guides. Or if you can’t be recorded on the DVR of your cable system. Or if you cannot get onto the HD tier. Or if your signal is degraded by the local cable carrier.
If you have a few moments, I’d like you to tell your story to the FCC – either to include in ACM’s comments or with your own comments to file with them.
Go to our website to find comments and letter templates for the proceeding, and let me know if you need any assistance as you’re putting materials together. Thank you for taking part in the proceeding!
Community News Survey
Are you producing community news? We want to hear from you!
Erica Jones from Somerville MA and Jane Regan at Salem State University in Salem MA are conducting a survey of PEG channels around the country to find out what type of local or hyperlocal news is being produced.
It only takes a few moments, and it will help ACM tell the story of how we serve local communities across the United States.
You can take the survey here. The Deadline for the survey is APRIL 15th. Thank you!
