Weekly News From the President: Do U Heart Community Media
A big Thank You to everyone who is joining us as a Sustainer of the ACM Foundation! When you make a monthly recurring gift to the Foundation, you’re supporting education of future leaders in our field – and you’re giving back to something you love.
Become a Sustainer today, and we’ll throw in a Beating Heart of
Localism t-shirt (and yes, they come in Ladies styles)!
What are you doing on St Patrick’s Day this year? Do you have a green Hawaiian shirt ready?
The ACM Western Region is extending their early-bird registration
deadline to February 22 for their Regional conference in Honolulu March 17 & 18.
I’m looking forward to hearing from PEG community media centers in Hawaii about the innovative work they are doing to preserve culture, connect people, and keep localism in media alive and strong…not least of which is the new HSPAN channel which has just launched covering state legislative issues.
I’ll hope you’ll join me and our colleagues there.
Register and get details on the conference at www.acmwest.org
I also want to encourage you to participate in the Annual Salary Survey taking place right now. Each year, Nancy Richard collects data from PEG operations around the country to help organizations and Boards make better decisions about compensation for community media staff. The survey is confidential, and it’s important we get as many responses from the field as we can. Take a few moments to fill out the survey by going here.
