Weekly News from the President: Closed Captioning and PEG
One last reminder: The FCC’s Workshop on Closed Captioning and PEG will be taking place Tuesday from 1-5 pm EST. You can watch live here: https://www.fcc.gov/live and get background materials and see the agenda here: https://www.fcc.gov/events/roundtable-discussion-closed-captioning-public-access-and-governmental-programming
The FCC will be taking questions during the event, so join us – if you can’t make the workshop it will be available for later viewing. My thanks to NATOA for partnering with ACM to help advise the FCC on this workshop.
There’s still time to file comments in the Charter Time Warner merger proceeding – the deadline to file your concerns about the proposed deal in Thursday, November 12. Let me know by email at mwassenaar@allcommunitymedia,.org if you want a comment template – it takes just a few minutes to craft a letter with your concerns and file them with the FCC. It’s important that your voice be heard!
Mark your calendar for ACM NE in Hartford CT next week. I’ll be speaking at the event a week from Friday, but the three day event is a great opportunity to learn about developments in community media and network with your colleagues in the North East states. You can still register for ACM NE here: http://acm-ne.org/2015/10/24/have-you-registered-yet-acmne-fall-conference/
Hope to see you in Hartford!
