Primary Responsibilities:
Media Literacy Project (MLP) is seeking a highly motivated Media Justice Organizer for a part-time (20 hr/wk) position. The Media Justice Organizer coordinates the local social justice field for our campaigns which includes coordination of NM Digital Justice Coalition, building MLP’s base, and supporting our partner organizations.
Qualified candidates have:
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge and understanding of racial and social justice frameworks
• Strong public speaking skills
• Strong facilitation skills
• Knowledge of how to run an effective community organizing campaign
• Knowledge of social networking sites
• Ability to connect with a large range of constituents
• Ability to work as an individual and as a team
• Ability to lead and coordinate projects
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Media Literacy Project is a dynamic multimedia organization that advances education and advocacy for media justice. We’re located in Albuquerque, NM where we partner with local social justice organizations and elected officials to ensure that low-income, rural, and people of color communities participate and are represented in media policy decisions.
