This RFP is intended to identify a full‐service Contractor/Association Management company to manage and execute the activities of the F/ACM. These activities include promoting organizational stability and reinforcing current member activity as well as expanding public policy administrative support and the current variety of organizational services offered. A more complete scope of services is outlined the following request for proposal.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is May 10, 2013 and will be deemed confidential.

A final call for nominations will be made at the May 29^th, 2013 Annual Membership Meeting, after which nominations for Directors shall be closed.  Each nominee must accept or decline a nomination prior to the close of nominations. A written, signed acceptance, or facsimile reproduction thereof, may be presented on behalf of an absent nominee. Then, by 5:00 p.m. PACIFIC on June 10, 2013, each nominee must complete the Board Application form, an online form available at the ACM’s website.

Candidates should be clear that the National Board is a policy governance Board – not an honorary Board, and members are expected to participate actively in Board and Committee Meetings, be faithful ambassadors and communicators of the organization’s positions, contribute meaningfully to helping the organization achieve its fund and leadership development goals, and exercise proper fiduciary care.

Attendance at thrice yearly face-to-face meetings around the country requires Board members to incur travel and lodging expenses as well, much of which is not yet subsidized.

Qualifications:
The board welcomes applications from all comers. Once elected, all Board Members must become Individual Members of the ACM, and no Board Member may be a paid staff member of the ACM.

Alliance for Community Media Grassroots Scholarship

This year, the Alliance will provide one conference registration with meals for the EO Caucus and each ACM Region in good standing for Grassroots scholarship recipients. Click here for the application.

This means each region will receive one scholarship to give deserving access users, staffs and volunteers. Please actively encourage your best and brightest to apply!

The ACM Grassroots Scholarship is open to individuals, access centers with small budgets, volunteers, independent producers and interns. Currently, recipients need not be individual members of the ACM. The Scholarship forms should be made available via the widest distribution:

Website: Individuals can download the scholarship form on the ACM Website. Individuals submitting downloaded applications must deliver them to their local Access center, the EO Representative or their Region Representative by April 5, 2013.

Access Centers: The scholarship forms can be made available at access centers. Any centers receiving an application are responsible for forwarding completed applications to the Region Representative for region applications and EO Representative for EO applications. Centers must forward completed scholarship applications to the Region/EO Representative by April 9, 2013.

EO Caucus/Regions: Select & notify scholarship recipients April 19, 2013. This allows winners ample time to make travel and lodging arrangements. Winner notification needs to include blank registration form.
Completed forms will be returned to region reps. The EO/region reps will forward all completed forms to ACM headquarters with letter of acknowledgement by May 6, 2013.

Alliance for Community Media
National Conference Scholarship 2013

The Alliance for Community Media offers scholarships in an effort to facilitate attendance at the national conferences by interns, staff of small access centers, access volunteers, independent producers and those traditionally denied access to the media who may otherwise be unable to attend.
Guidelines and Criteria

The National Conference will be held May 29-31, 2013 in San Francisco, California.
The Alliance for Community Media will provide one full conference registration with meals for the EO Caucus and each ACM Region in good standing to scholarship recipients selected by ACM EO Caucus and Regional Boards.

How to Apply:
Submit your application to your local PEG Access Center or Region Board or to the EO Caucus by the deadline. Be sure to complete all of the information and insure that contact information is accurate.

The deadline date for applications: 5:00 PM PACIFIC Thursday April 5, 2013

The Dirk Koning - George Stoney Award for Humanistic Communication
The Dirk Koning - George Stoney Award is given annually to an organization or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to championing the growth and experience of humanistic community communications.

The Buske Leadership Award
The Buske Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the Alliance for Community Media, leadership within the organization within the last three years, a high degree of involvement in the organization nationally, regionally and at the chapter level, and continuing service to the ACM.

The Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity
The Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity is given annually to those persons who show an outstanding contribution to a process that encourages, facilitates, or creates culturally diverse and/or non-mainstream community involvement in the field of community media.

The Brian Wilson Scholarship
This scholarship of $1,000 is offered annually by the Alliance for
Community Media to promote the values of former Board of Directors Chair
Brian Wilson by providing financial support to an individual currently enrolled in
an undergraduate or graduate degree granting program in media arts, broadcast
journalism, community & public service, government administration, public
education administration or teaching.
