MINNEAPOLIS – Oct. 20, 2014 – The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) welcomes Antoine Haywood, PhillyCAM, and Suzanne St. John-Crane, CreaTV San Jose, to the ACM Board of Directors. Their term begins with the Nov. 15 Board meeting at Manhattan Neighborhood Network in New York City.

Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media Hosts Youth Media Summit in Minneapolis; Speakers Represent Wide Array of Industry Expertise
The Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) will hold a Youth Media Summit on February 27, 2013 at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The summit addresses funding, education, and policy and community building issues as they relate to digital and news literacy training for Minneapolis youth.
More than 200 member organizations participated in the Alliance for Community Media’s (ACM) survey of community media centers’ 2012 election program offerings. Community media centers often serve as the only source of local news and information, and ACM’s survey results reinforce the value of — and critical need to preserve — community media centers in throughout the U.S.
(McLean, VA, January 2, 2012) – The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) congratulates Commissioner Mignon Clyburn on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a second term. She was first appointed to the Commission in 2009, and has been an outspoken advocate for public, educational and governmental cable channels.
