CAP Act Update

A call was held with the ACM membership on February 17, 2011 to provide an update and overview of the reintroduction of the CAP Act. ACM is working with key state Congressional leaders, and has asked its state captains to begin outreach for CAP Act co-sponsors.


New America Foundation

New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative announced the release of “Full Spectrum Community Media: Expanding Public Access to Communications Infrastructure,” a policy paper written for the ACM. The paper argues that the key to sustaining community media will be expanding beyond the provision of public access television and participating in the provision of local broadband, operation of radio broadcast licenses as well as other communications infrastructure.
